911SC Engine - Measurement Request

Hi Everyone,

I am attempting to adapt a 911SC 3.0 engine to another type of transmission.

However, the engine is currently installed in a car, so I cannot take all the necessary measurements myself at this moment... I don't have the space right now to pull it apart (that's coming.)

I need the distance between the face of the 9-bolt crankshaft, to the face of the surface upon which the transaxle bolts to.

On a 2.7 with a 6-bolt crank, this distance 9.66mm. (See Attached Picture)

It might be the same?

If anyone has an engine out right now that can take this measurement for me they would be doing me a solid!

Regards,

Daniel

I'd love to hear more about this project. What type of transmission are you trying to adapt? Is it going back into a 911? Any more thoughts on the motivation?

It's a Subaru transaxle for a mid-engined application. The motivation is "for fun" and the fact that I love air-cooled Mezger engines.

At this point, it's more brainstorming than anything else.

I'm still finishing up my current project (a 911) too. But I like to keep busy...!
