Made a mistake fixing my sunroof

I tightened the slotted screw and it it broke off the transmisión, any possible way to find the correct one to replace it?

Did you break the screw head off entirely or is shank still in the cast gearbox or is it also broken?

I believe the head broke off only. Worst case what can I do to fix it either way? Any photos of what the actual screw in whole looks like?

Worse case is to remove the entire motor/trans assembly and carefully try to drill out the broken screw shank.
BTW, did you use a screwdriver or the special hand crank? You don’t say if your sunroof was not operating or if you tried to close it manually.

Since I can’t remove mine I’m unable to get a size of screw or picture of the inside of the hole.

Here’s a video of a guy that did a repair, he removed the screw at about the 8:40 minute mark, very dark and blurry but I’d guess it to be a M4 x 5, nothing special as to the type of head, as it’s just a cover and doesn’t have any affect on the trans whatsoever.

Secondly, since the screw is actually a cover that screws into another bushing that holds the special screw-in hand crank in place. It has threads both on inside and outside. On your broken piece…Do you see the two slots inside that opening - these would allow the trans to crank with the tool or a screwdriver.
This might be part #901.564.661.05 that holds both the cover screw and the screw-in crank, there’s a picture on Stoddard site (link not permitted).
