Are all 911/01 transmissions interchangeable?

I have a line on a 1970 unit. My car's decodes as a 1971.

I think this is a stupid question but I don't want to make an expensive mistake.

Ian, 70 or 71, year doesn’t matter. Just avoid the ‘69 901 variants of mag case boxes because they will have the wrong clutch actuation.
