Help With Luggage Compartment Light
No problem too small for this board, I hope . . .
The luggage compartment light is staying "on" all the time, draining my battery. This is a 1989 3.2. I pulled the light assembly and it looks like there are actually two ground wires running to it (both brown/white). One ground wire is connected to the plunger switch by the passenger side hood hinge, so the bulb sees a closed circuit when the hood is lifted. That works fine, i.e. the circuit is closed when the hood is lifted and open (interrupted) when the hood is lowered. But there is a second ground wire which goes I know not where. I think that second ground wire is keeping the light illuminated, because the light stays on regardless of plunger switch position. Does anyone know where this second ground goes to? I have looked through my Owners Manual and the wiring diagrams in my Bentley Manual and can't find any mention of the luggage compartment light wiring. I guess it is too trivial to be documented, but trivial or not it is draining my battery flat. Obviously I have simply pulled the bulb for now.
