turn signal flasher

So I just purchased a 1972 911T and when I turn on the ignition the turn signal indicator comes on and stays on. Both turn signals work fine and operate with the lever but the flashing indicator is always flashing regardless of the lever position. I have ordered a new relay but thought it might be the switch?

There is a Brake Light Warning Switch (USA only) that uses the flasher. If the car thinks your parking brake is on, you will hear the clicking of the flasher, and a light on the Tach should also flash. Try releasing the parking brake and see if the sound stops.
