'74 project ideas

Hey everyone, my project is at the point where I need to make some big decisions about where to take it and I'd like some feedback/ideas from those who've been down the road before.

I bought the car in good mechanical condition, but the body was pretty rough so it was a project from the get go and it's currently completely stripped sitting on a rotisserie. The rust is a bit worse than I originally thought, but I'm almost done patching it up. I still have the motor which is a 3.0 the PO swapped in, but sold the gearbox (the original 915).

The body was already cut up a fair bit for a widebody kit and looks like it might have had a front end hit at some point early in its life- so I've got no issue slicing it up more at this point.

My original idea was to LS swap it, and for a while was thinking of using a PDK but I'm not completely sold on that anymore. Kind of leaning toward keeping the 3.0 at this point and going turbo or SC, I'll convert it to EFI either way if I do stay with this motor. I've seen a few people swap in 996 gearboxes or even Subaru boxes and I like that idea more than a G50 honestly.

The rear has been converted to coilovers, still deciding if I'll do the fronts or not.
I've got a haltech 2500 and PD16 PDM so not limited on that side of things.

Planning to use it as a street car that will see the track maybe a couple times per year.
I'm a pretty decent fabricator and I've done swaps and turbo conversions before so I'll do all the labor myself.

So basically I have a blank canvas at the moment, what would you do with it if you were me?

Endless possibilities. I’d start by perusing this 911 Technical Forum front pages for build threads, which generally involve many pages and many, many views.
Good luck.

Thanks guys. I've got a turbo width IROC bumper kicking around, I might end up going that route visually... I do like the idea of being more subtle with the exterior and maybe trying to do more of a stealthy turbo setup

yep, I say IROC.
they're a uniquely American take on the 911, and have a lot of presence.they look mean as hell when done right.
