No turn signals (indicators)
My'69 911 turn signals have taken a permanent vacation; there is no life from neither the turn signals nor the hazard lights.. I'm a complete novice regards electrical faults so all I've checked is that all fuses are fine and all bulbs and wires to the turn signal housings are ok..
I thought perhaps the relay is broken - but I've no idea where to find this ... any ideas people ? /Martin '69 911s |
The relay is behind the oil pressure/temp guage. Its a small black box looking thing. Easy to get to.
Pull it out, pop off the cover and clean the contacts. Worked wonders for my car. |
Yikes, that was a quick reply !
Lovely - I will go relay hunting tomorrow .. thx so far /Martin |
AME...you will get that here! Great stuff!
You may be Gruppe B material...search for it! |
AME, Welcome to the board. Most topics will get you a quick answer.
Just to clarify. You will want to clean the contacts that open and close for the relay. These are what make the system "Blink". If that doesn't work check the connections in the stalk switch and headlight switch. Yep, you may qualify for Gruppe B. Use the Search button in upper right hand corner to find many answers in the archives. |
Finally had a chance to stick me head behind the dashboard .. alas nothing that looked like a relay ... all that I could see is the 'rear workings' of the lightswitch and ignition... above those again there would seem to be a casing covering what would be the bottom of the gauges ...
btw... I did search for "gruppe b" but that left me none the wiser ... anyone care to enlighten me ? Martin |
