1969 911T,E,S electrical wiring diagrams

Greetings:

I have an electrical wiring diagram for a '69 911T. Click on the link, and print yourself a copy:

http://www.contracosta.edu/Phys-Web/Porsche/1969porsche911telectricalwiringdiagram.pdf

© Dr. Ing h.c. F. Porsche K.G.

I also have diagrams for the ’69 E and S (please ask). All three of the diagrams are different from each other, and different from any other model year 911. (I've examined them all--'65-'73).

These electrical wiring diagrams are a part of the supplemental book that originally accompanied the shop manual. After an extensive search, I finally obtained a copy of the supplemental book on eBay, and I feel obligated to share.

Cheers,
Jeffy

Diagrams???

I've got a 69E and sure could use a wiring diagram to help make things right again after the PO hacked a few wires.

Would appreciate a copy if you can spare it.

That was quick. I will try to have this for you tomorrow. I'll put the S up as well.

Garage
I took the two diagrams for '72 out of the factory manual to
Kinko's and had them enlarged and laminated for shop use.
Really a big help for us old, half blind guys and only $13 for the
two.

Thanks for the effort. I'll end up doing the same with Kinko's . . . the bigger the better.

Sorry, work has been busy and I cannot make time to scan and post the rest of the diagrams today. I will definitely have it sorted by Monday.

I just noticed that my supplemental to shop manual, which is actually called "SERVICE - INFORMATION MODEL 69", also includes the '69 912 wiring diagram. Of course, I will include a link for this diagram, too.

Jeffy,

Can you scan the entire document? That is one of the few “Service Information” documents that I don’t have. It may be the first. What is the publication number and date?
Feel free to email it to me in very high resolution. My email is on my Pelican profile.

Best,
Grady

Grady,

I guess my response did not make it the first time!?? Sure, I'll scan the whole jobbie, and it should be downloadable on Monday. I also have an uber rare schematic for my '69 Blaupunkt Frankfurt US model radio. I will post that as well.

Cheers

Hey Jeff,

That 'Service Information' document looks to be a great source of data. Thanks for making this available.

Regards,

Tom

Jeffy,

You found a great resource. This is possibly the earliest “Technical Information” booklet ever. I have the ’72 and the earlier versions as typewritten publications.

So everyone knows, there are LOTS of technical errors in this document. Porsche didn’t proof these very well. We can collectively correct the errors. That said, there is significant technical info not available anywhere else and images not published elsewhere.

An important feature for me is this documents the existence of the similar “Technical Information” documents for ’70 and ’71.

When I get home I’ll compare the wiring diagrams to the ones I have. I suspect there is some unique information in these that will clear up some issues long unresolved.

I don’t think you can have appreciation of how significant this little book is.

THANK YOU!

Best,
Grady

PS; at the links please post “© Dr. Ing h.c. F. Porsche K.G.” to protect Pelican and Wayne. Porsche owns the copyright but we can post for research and education if we acknowledge the copyright. It is called “Fair Use”.

Grady, et al,

It pleases me no end to share relevant information. And I am fully aware of how rare this service information literature is, which is all the more reason why I want others to have it (for research and educational purposes only).

I originally obtained this service book because I knew it contained the electrical wiring diagram for my car. And like I said earlier, I know for a fact that the diagrams for the 1969 model cars are unique to that year only. Given that I’ve been an electronics technician for more than 20 years, I’m big on electrical diagrams…so I’m sure you can imagine how I felt to have finally found the definitive diagram for my car. The rest of the book was a bonus.

Speaking of rare, I have yet to post the Blaupunkt schematic. Perhaps this is not as interesting to some, but it does come with a brochure with some neat pictures. I will try to get to that today.

Jeffy

Jeffy,

I second the applause of my Colorado friend, this is outstanding.

A while back I was having some fun reverse-engineering a VDO tachometer board, you might find it interesting. I don't think I have the schematic quite right. . . .

Bravo, John. That type of transcription can be tedious. And identifying foreign proprietary numbers is even worse. Also, the Germans (and the rest of Europe) typically used germanium based semiconductors. This can make parts sourcing a challenge.

My only VDO tach experience is far less heroic. I sent mine off to North Hollywood Speedo when I decided to upgrade to a MSD 6A box and Pertronix breaker-less ignition. They swapped the whole circuit board out for their own design. And they did a fine job.

And finally…

Here are the 1969 Blaupunkt Frankfurt US schematics, other technical data, and a several pictures. For the rare few that have an original radio (I count myself as lucky to have one), the schematic can be very useful—if not for you, then for someone you might pay to fix your radio.
