If your insurance company let you keep the car and didn’t require you to surrender the title for payout… then you essentially have a coveted “clean” title opposed to one that would be “salvage”. Titles get branded when insurance companies payout, then sell these claims to outfits like CoPart who auctions them off as salvage titled wrecks.
Once you figure out what you’re going to keep, consulting Bring a Trailer would be a worthwhile option, a No Reserve project or whatever moniker they want to tag it as. A little local nostalgia… http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1706914566.jpg |

Well, that is what I want to hear. Thanks for this info...might have to PM you at a later date - only sold hiking/climbing gear and camera lenses on ebay. Since this is my first engine drop, etc...have a feeling this whole process will take me a few months. Thanks! Erik |

Yes, have the title. The appraiser really took care of me when it came to dealing with insurance and recommendations. Walked me through exactly what you have stated. It only seemed logical to keep the car and get less money. With the car being a one owner and only 65,000 miles on it knew the engine and tranny alone would make it worth it. Thanks for the input-much appreciated! Erik |
