Exterior Door Handle Trigger Disassembly
I have my outside central locking door handles off my '87 for paint and cannot get the trigger section off the handle. I have removed the tumbler, central lock switch, and the nut on the stud that the trigger section mounts to the handle, but the nothing will move.
I tried to double nut the stud and almost damaged the threads it is in so tight. Are there any tips on where to pry or way to get the stud / trigger mechanism out without any damage? Is there something else that has to be removed in order to get those parts out? Thank you for any advice you can offer. ![]() ![]() |

The tall piece with the spring should slide right up that shaft and it and the handle should be free. Nothing holding it now except for friction and a bit of corrosion.

Thanks Dan T.
Maybe try some heat and more penetrate next? Don't really see anywhere to pry. |
