Taking apart speedometer gauge to clean face

Hi,
Does anybody know how one would take apart the speedometer gauge to get at the inside of the face. I don't know how this happened but there is dirt on the inside of the gauge face that needs to be cleaned.

Thanks,
nick

Read the Pelican tech articles for replacing gauge faces. Basically you open it by peeling up the rim of the ring. Getting it back on tight is another trick. Good luck.

Nick-
My '70E had the same thing happen. There is a tech article on this site that explains how to remove the glass from the gauges. I did this, and it's not too bad of a job. Basically, you pry the metal bezel of the gauge with a small, flat screw driver (it is crimped in place). If you are patient and careful, you should be able to remove and reinstall it without significant damage. Refer to the article, as it does a better job of explaining the process than I am. It was nice to have clean gauges again.
