OT, but I know someone up here will know the answer. (ABS bleed question)

sorry for the OT, but no one in the jeep forums wants to answer any of my posts... (this is still the most knowledgable bbs community i've been a part of.)

i'm changing the failed abs pump and abs computer in my '97 grand cherokee and have a general question. can i just bleed the brakes manually after swapping out the ABS pump, or am i going to have to deal with getting the dealer to do it so they can 'cycle the pump', etc.... i really don't want to take my car there so i can get overcharged for something so simple. is there anything special i can do to get a decent bleed after opening up the system at the pump end??? thanks for your help-
