Yay, got the seats.
Yay, got the seats I had been looking at. They are the 1981 to 1984 type. I swapped them into the SC today and will get my original ones fixed by an upholsterer.
Bought them for NZ$1,800 which is about US$1,100 so quite happy. |

The seats feel different. I guess they wear in to the driver LOL
I already had sport seats. Interestingly the 1979 seats weighed 20.5kg whereas the 1984 seats weight 15.5kg. Years ago I got the correct vinyl for them ![]() |

Nice, enjoy them while your other seats are being redone.

Thanks.
I saw the upholster guy today and he said he couldn't start on them for about a month. So I guess that means two months. So good thing I did get the seats. |

If you are redoing the seats bend the bolsters to fit you before the covers go on. ![]() ![]() edit: Your second pic looks like your bottom bolsters are bent out wide. Last edited by eastbay; 02-14-2024 at 05:19 AM.. |

Thanks Eastbay. My original seats, the brown ones, fit me like a glove after having driven the car a lot over 29 years.
The new black ones torso area s a little more snug than my usual ones. But OK. I may get them tidied up by the upholster at a later date. I think they would fit most people fine, but thanks for the tip re bending the frame slightly. |

Sport Seats
Nice seats! I picked set of the later manual sport seats a few years ago and were surprised how light they were compared to the early versions, or even the stock comfort seats in my ‘82 SC.
