86 / 911 stuck high beams

Hello

The high beams are stuck on. I sprayed WD-40 in the area and blew compressed air @50lbs. Btw- the part was still attached to the car when airing out the part. There is 93 k on the speedo

Ive 2 questions.

1] is the high beam stalk a separate unit from wiper/ cruise control stalks?
2] can this stalk be disassembled and inspected for debris or jammed parts.

Common problem. The factory did not use relays on the headlights, and all the power goes through that switch. You can remove it and bend the contacts back into position to work, or replace the switch.

First get the relay kit for the headlights, and the issue will not reoccur.

There are several dozen treads about the issue, and the fixes.

Here is a long thread with pictures. Not the same issue, but it illustrates the inner workings of the switch.
