Do you see any Thermal Reactor?

Looking at a 2.7 1976 S… seller doesn’t know if reactors are still there… the 5 blade was replaced with 11 blade .. but can’t tell about reactors… any help?

I can't help you with the reactors, but you might want to search 'Beverly Hills Car Club' on this forum before you decide to deal with them. Good luck.

The exhaust shown is a set of SSI headers/heat exchangers.....which replaced the thermal reactors.

Any dealer that dabbles in the old Porsche trade should have some idea of what the MidYears dreaded thermal reactors are.
Just looking the your pic there’s more missing of the CA emission gear to wit; air injection pump and tubing and likely the EGR. The SSI’s are nice and desirable no doubt, but if you reside in CA, better to check the stringent smog requirements if this is you’re first entry into a MY911.

Not trying to be a jerk but if you don’t know the difference in exhausts you might want to find somebody to help you out, especially dealing with that place. If you get burned on a 911 especially a worn out 2.7 it will cost you more to fix than you paid for the car unless you have the time and skills to do everything yourself then you could still be looking at $10,000 plus easily.

Ditto what the others said, plus this: If you plan to register the car in California, DO NOT BUY IT. It will not pass a stringent inspection. BHCC might "guarantee" it to pass, or even provide a passed certificate, but if so, they probably used an inspector who "works" with them.

Caveat Emptor.

Hopefully this too will help the OP …
Heres another MidYear exhaust configuration that was used back then when TR’s were removed and no longer available but economically used the original heat exchangers. Aftermarket Bursch manifolds referred to as ‘candelabras’ .
This pic also shows the air injection tubing removed.

Note - anyone can look up a California emissions testing result history by VIN at https://www.bar.ca.gov/inspection

Zooming in on the VIN stamped by the smugglers box, I think it is 9116201152. Shows no inspections using that link.

They are asking $60K for a 1976 with over 300,000 miles (if you believe the odometer).

Went to website looked at car. It’s been painted, weatherstripping is toast, door stay areas paint peeling, doors hinge bolts no paint, doors have been refitted. Asking $60,000 probably paid $35 for it. A good candidate to turn your dream into a nightmare.

Good thing you checked with the forum before putting your money down. For that kind of coin, you can buy a much better car. Continue to educate yourself and search for the "right" one. One thing for sure, this one is not it.

WOW thank you all.... I lost interest as soon as I saw they didn't let outside inspectors go in... Im in NJ so smog wasn't an issue... I thought it extraordinarily shady that they didn't have any receipts or info on an engine rebuild yet the thing had 300k miles on it. Appreciate all this feedback.... maybe will look for a G50 instead..

For $60K, you can get a good Condition 3 G50 "driver." If that's your budget range, look for a few months and you will find one. Being in New Joisey, watch for rust.

Congratulations! Love the color.

It's funny, as the years have gone by, the 993 has lost some of its visual appeal for me. But after watching that video, I want one again.
