Sunroof Wind Deflector Installation - help required

Having purchased a replacement kit, made of metal so expensive that the car's value has just doubled, I'm loath to attempt installation without any instructions or guidance. I've search the web and can't find anything showing the process from end to end. The kit is one of those Golde replacements (3 deflector pieces, 4 hinges and 2 springs) going on a SC. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Took my entire car apart down to bare shell. 79 SC. The wind deflector simply screwed out and came out piece by piece. Don’t recall anything tricky at all about taking it in or out. Did also replace the felt pieces that were under it. You may want to have those on hand as well.

Thanks for the reply. Did you dismantle the deflector; hinges taken off spring? I have new springs and new hinges. It's the install of those bits that I'm concerned about. Cheers

@Choc Mousse I am facing the same issue, albeit I haven't purchased the gold wind deflector. Gold by invoice, aluminium by material. This video will show you everything you need to know, in far greater detail than you'll find anywhere else. It's a three part video, I've pasted a link to part one, the others are linked from the first.

I did a full sunroof rebuild so all of it was relevant for me. It's possible you only need to follow some of the steps. Lastly, while my car is a 1984 and has a slightly different design than the earlier model, the parts are identical enough to do what you need

Hi Choc Mousse, don't know of you are still on here but did you ever manage to installer the kit ? I spent a few hours wrestling with one at the weekend and thought I better see if there are any instructions out there ! If you got it fitted, any tips about the springs going through the clips ?
