can't identify dashboard switch
Hi, Everyone: I’m curious what this switch is for ?
Euro 83 SC http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1713968403.jpg |
It flips your car 90 degrees onto its right side.

Intermittent wiper?
|
I’ve seen the knockout opening on a SC dash before but no clue what it was for.
That knob looks like it would open/close a flapper for an hvac function. A similarly styled knob can be found on aftermarket dealer installed ac console, also had a pair of these on a VW I once owned, they opened the windshield defroster flaps. Good chance you can see where it attaches underneath. |

follow the wires--let us see the connections where it ends

Well, what happens when you turn it ?

Front/rear fader ?

Im guessing that your knob/plug is not OEM. Cheers, Johan |
When you are ready to execute a barrel roll....
Some aftermarket stereo-thing, not oem. Nope, never. Wait, it might be a euro-only duct opener. Okay, I am out of guesses. edit just clicked on link uwon posted and its a pretty great rabbit-hole of various things that particular dash-spot was used for ! |
I had a Euro 83 with auto heat and there was nothing there except for the knockout. The knob definitely doesn't look factory to me.
|
It's a "U Turn" switch. Very common in countries where the idiot in front of you enacts a U Turn with zero warning........
