Backdated long hood on gbody

Hi, could you please share your experience if you had installed an OEM long hood on a G-body for your backdated 911? I rather not relocating the hood latch if I could use hood pins or hood leather straps for DIY. Not a welder . Thanks

The lazy man’s way is to extend the latch. Easy peasy. You do need to weld though.

I did try that by hiring a body/fabricator to do the backdate for me. He fxxxing me up so bad that the car was sitting at his shop for 2 years and I took it back in pieces and the car no longer runs, and the worse case I paid him 3/4 of the total price
If anybody knows someone in the Orange County, California you could recommend to me, I would appreciate much.

If you have through access like me, this is the quickest easiest way

https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/1160949-backdate-gbody-longhood-lazy-latch.html

I was going to do pulls like some RS, but this didn't require drilling the hood and bumper.

I am there about half the time and should be driving the car more now that I have AC. I am happy to show you my many backdate mods if you want to check them out.
