3.2 AC question

I just added refrigerant to my car and is cooling down but I would like to know if there is a way to shut off the bottom vent by my legs so more air will hit my face from the tiny dash vents? Also, what is the best position for the three heater and fan levers when using AC. A bit confusing. Thank you. Nick.

You can either stuff some cloth into the bow tie vent (#9 in the diagram) to block it, or remove the vent and tape over the opening (you can reinstall the vent so you don't lose it and / or the screws).

Dashboard control levers are somewhat immaterial, I'd have all three of them fully to the left. Most importantly, have the heater levers between the seats all the way down/closed.

Frank!! Thanks! I like the rag stuff idea. Easy, no one sees it!! I also closed the worthless tiny window vents.

Hi Nick- Griffith's has also come up with a great solution. I believe you've got an '85, so I would let Charlie confirm, but those side vents may fit (even though the link says up to '83). Regardless, I've got his center vent, and it's a huge help.

85 As per handbook, I printed and laminated this. Not sure why it looks so big
