:) That was my initial suspicion, which is why I decided to go over many of the original solder joints in key areas of the ECU as suggested, maybe I missed something ? so if nothing shows up with the plug, I will take another look at both the digital and analogue boards in the ECU, I am an Electronics Engineer, [over 25 years experience] but specialise in Audio equipment, so always learning! :)

The high currents in the ignition final drive causes electro migration in the micro cracks and that weakens them over time. The spark becomes weak and eventually leads to complete failure. Sometimes you can hit the box hard and it’ll come back before failing again.
