LIVE from Porsche Parade 2024!

Right now one of the biggest Porsche gatherings in the United States is underway in Birmingham, AL until Saturday, June 15th and we're excited to share this special event with our forum members in real-time!

There's a little bit of everything going on including pristine factory-spec cars and tastefully modified custom builds too. Stay tuned as we continue to update this thread with new pictures as everything unfolds. If you are at the event please feel free to post your pictures too!

Our first Parade so lessons learned.

We figured that all the good stuff would build up and happen late in the week. Got there Wednesday night 5 PM checked in to hotel and at Parade counter. Then went straight to the Parade gift store spent a half hour looking at all the small and 3X t shirts. If you want good souvenirs go early.

Stuck our heads in the huge second floor room shown in Matts early pictures above. Not many cars and vendors were leaving. Looked like it was closing up so we put off looking around there til later because I assumed there would be more cars to look at in this room later in the week. Went to dinner near the hotel where surprisingly there were not many Parade people. That’s because they were all at the “Under the Overpass” thing (see Matts second group of picture above) Wednesday or Thursday night that we missed completely. Not sure if this was a scheduled event or just happened on its own.

Thursday had a fun day doing the Gimmick Rally. Great dinner at “Helen”.



No plans for Friday so this was going to be my day to really get into the cars. That morning went straight to the second floor ballroom to immerse myself in Porsche goodness all day. Picture:

Did the actual Porsche Parade on Saturday and did finally get to be around some nice cars




We actually did see a lot of nice cars while we were there. I have reached the picture limit so see next post

Now that we have done it once we feel like we can do better next time. Already planning to go to OKC next year.

I did the DE at Barber Motorsports. I was the only air cooled "antique" car in a field of over 150 cars.
