Clutch Help

The other day, I stepped on the clutch (‘84 3.2L) and I felt something shudder. Hard to describe, but it just felt like something broke. The clutch pedal still operates and travels freely, but now clutch seems to engage/disengage closer to the floor. I checked roll pin at pedal cluster and it appears to be intact. Any thoughts as to what may have happened would be appreciated.

915 clutch pedal dropped, clutch fork broken ?

Those Stuttgart geniuses designed the clutch failsafe to still operate with a failed or popped spring.

There are a number of reasons.

One among them is the tube inside the tunnel has come away from its welding.

Thanks. I should have added that I recently replaced the omega spring.
