Fuch question

Howdy,
Have a set of 12/69 dated 14” x 6” Fuchs, can’t seem to find much information about what car these came on, lots of 5.5” wheels.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks, Neil

The early 911 were equipped with 4,5"x15 Fuchs rims with 165S15 tires. That size came from the 356 as Porsche made good experiences on these cars. So they took them for the 911 too, But soon after begin of production Porsche starts testing wider tires to enhance the handling and make the cars less sensible. So they coninued with 5,5" with 165 HR15 tires.
After them Porsche widened the rims up to 6" to use 185/70VR15.

More reading in Paul Frère "The Porsche 911 story". Choose an early version of the book from the 80ies as there are more details on early 911 versions. That book is the "Porsche 911 bible"....

Man, that is a deep dive. Need to find an earlier version of that book as I have the later.

Mine is from 1987. But there's another good book, don't know if this is available in US in english... It's called "Porsche 911 - die technische Dokumentatjon von 1963 bis 2009" (Porsche 911 - the technical documentation from 1963-2009"), authors are Jörg Austen & Sigmund Walter :
https://www.amazon.de/Porsche-911-technische-Dokumentation-1963/dp/3613029731

But there a 14x5,5 rims listed with partno. 90136101600. The 914 was equipped with them afaik.
