Electrical Connector PN
Does anyone know the male plug part number I need in this pic? I believe this is the CHT sensor. Also if anyone has the correct pin locations for black, white and ground that would be helpful. Thanks

It's a Bosch EV1, sometimes called a "Junior Timer" connector, pretty sure. These are available in 2 and 3 pin variants for $5 or so - and at least the 2 way ones are made in "short", low" and "regular" flavors.
AMP/Tyco (TE) also make these (used on some GM/Fords until 2000). As you say, the male end - the intact one looks like it has the female terminals. The male plug comes fitted to new sensors 911.606.215.01, available from our host Porsche Crankshaft Reference Mark Sensor The car harness connector (the other side, the female one) is listed - pretty sure it is 022.906.233.B; part #4 on drawing 902-11 in PET. Our host has them for a pretty reasonable price. If you do a web search for "Bosch EV1 3 way male connector", these are usually available as a kit with a boot, seals and crimp terminals. You may be able to use the body/seals/boot to re-assemble it. Too many wires. The (later) CHT sensor has 2 connectors, one of which is ground. The original/earlier style had 1 (and relied on being grounded through the block which proved less reliable). The CHT connector is the white one. So that would appear to be a speed or reference sensor. Quote:
This might help: 3.2 Speed & Reference Sensors...both bad at the same time...

Check with **** or AliExpress.
I bought 4 of the 4 pin varieties, complete with crimp on pins and seals for something like $8 My Chinese wife tells me that they are likely just made in the same factory that the Bosch or AMP ones are made, but the factory management just runs the plant a few extra hours per week and sells them through either of those two outlets for ready cash. Mine were as good a plug as I could find...no issues. D. |
