if you don,t mind welding the plates in go for the safety devices or any other brand that uses welding plates. I think its much stronger than all the bolt in types i looked at. On the other hand i hear good things about das bar and that,s a bolt in model. Love your car btw

Don't know much about your question, but I just have to say I love your car. Something about a '70 RS replica that gets me going...

Someone told me that some clubs/org. don't allow the bolt in DAS roll bar because in a crash the bolts may shear.
But both cars look great! |

You can go with these seats for a period look.
http://www.rsl-classic.de/ or http://www.bielstein.com/BF-Sitze/NURBURGRING/nurburgring.html\ I would suggest you check out OG Racings cage/roll bar. It bolts to welded in plates on the sills. Much stronger application than one that mounts to the floor.

Since Wayne doesn't sell them, try PAR cars in NY. I saw they have a special running this month, in the new Pano. Under $400 a piece, for SRD's
And nice car! That orange is awesome. |

Here is another seat alternative - repros of the R, RS and Outlaw seat. The photo on the Outlaw page is my car and the first seat they built.

Roll Bar selected
Hi
I ended up going with the OG racing roll bar, and got hardware to set up 2 sets of 5 point harnesses. Here is a picture of bar.It has weld in plates, then the roll bar bolts to these plates so you can remove if you want ... - Joe -

PCA / CVR will not allow a 5 point harness without the cutouts in the seats for the belts to pass through. So if you plan on using the car at limerock with CVR, this is something to be aware of
you need the cut outs in the seat.

Hi Joe,
I am planing to do some Limerock and NHIS events ... with CVR and NCR regions .. So although i really like the vintage seat look , I think im going to have to go with seats like the Recaro SRD or similar with harness slots. Anybody have any ideas on other seats like the SRD's that are good .. and not too pricy ? - Joe - |

Great looking bar Joe ! i like the extra horizontal bar on yours will be great for the harnesses i,m sure. I have the Sparco pro 2000 myself and i like it a lot, the adapter i made myself and bolted that direct to the chassis. I paid 400 dollars for the chair not too expensive i think

Corbeau has some cheap vintage seats. The "classic" and "alpine."

Hi Joe,
Don't skimp on either of these. Buy what will keep you very safe and look to the future of what you may do with the car. It sucks to have to replace something later because they don’t fit within the safety guidelines. There are seats for less money but most are uncomfortable and not always well made. Check on the SRD's, I think they are FIA approved and if you ever want to advance to club racing that is a must. If you buy a bolt in roll bar be sure that it bolts to the sill plates of the car and not the floor. A roll bar bolted to the floor is only as strong as the thin sheet metal that it is fastened to. I have seen this type of installation punch through the floor in a rollover and that is not good for the occupants of the car! Check the new PCA rules, I believe that the DAS roll bar is not allowed anymore for club racing? And on a final note, install a fire system they don’t cost much and you never want to loose all of that hard work because you didn’t spend $400 dollars to keep it and you safe. They can be installed easily and removed just as easy if you sell the car or return it to just street use. And I almost forgot, VERY nice car!!!!!!!!
