Source for RS shelves in the rear

Looking to take out the back seats in the 911.....can't use them anyways with the roll bar.

Anyone know a source for reproductions?

Will that RS America unit fit a SC? I may have just found a way to keep my Motec/libretto in the car at all times

No worry, I'd give Mikez first dibs.

will the rear shelf/storage compartment fit in an SC? would I have to remove anything other than the seats?

Mike do you mean the RS carpet set? The RS did not have rear seats. They were removed along with the heavy sound deadening and a cool looking lt wt carpet set was installed. There are several people who sell the rear RS look carpet kit. I dont think our host does. There is a company called App Biz? they are on Ebay alot and Webber Sport sells them as well. They both sell the RSA replica door panels too. That would be cool on your car since you are going with the Lt wt look. Check it out. Sorry I dont have links.

I have seen them fitted to earlier cars than the 964/993 however it requires some trimming of the wooden part of the box.

I was wanting to do the same thing but looking for more of a custom job. Keeping the rear deck panel stock, removing the seats and getting the RS style carpet kit. Although I want the carpet to match my grey/beige interior so having the RS carpet set made out of my carpet. Anyone know who does this?

I asked that guy what the shelf was made from and how much it weighed - but never got an answer.

I bet you could get some Al hexcell material and fab a really light wt. shelf. That would be more in keeping with the idea of the RS's.

I don't have a pic w/ me (at work), but in my '84 cab I pulled the rear seats and built a RS style shelf. 2 pieces of plywood, cut to fit, then sealed and carpeted over. While I was at it, I dropped 2 10" subs in it; made a nice sub box. End result: a nice flat shelf to set things on (subs have covers), reduced weight and looks quite nice. Cost me about $20 to do.

mikez, i would PM member Eric Mckenna. He recently redid the rear of his interior in perlon felt that he bought from a local hardware store and then cut it to fit and glued the pieces in place with some 3M adhesive. The install looked clean and still seemed like it had ample room for stuff in the back.
