Replace pilot bearing while engine is out?

Is it good or normal practice to replace the pilot bearing while the engine is out?

I'm putting in a new clutch.

How can I tell if the pilot bearing needs to be replaced?

Or should I just replace it regardless?

Replace it.

Check the rear main seal as well. Lots of while you’re in there things to do on these old cars.
