1969 Electrical Issues + Hazards, turn signals
I am hoping an electrical guru can chime in and keep me going in the right direction.. I am kind of at the end of my knowledge here.
I am having continued troubles working on my 69 electrical system. Symptoms: Passenger turn signals and hazards are blowing fuses. So far I have done all the basics like make sure contacts are clean and Ive added some new grounds to be sure. Harness is mostly undisturbed. I tracked down /swapped a new hazard switch and that did not change anything. I am measuring high resistance /ohms from battery ground to my fuse block. Fuses 1-7. I have a new fuse block on the way from retro. If I isolate fuse #5 (flasher relay input) and put it on its own 12v battery, the hazards will function and not blow a fuse. The input on the flasher (49) gets very hot very quickly which seems wrong. Lastly, the flasher makes a different noise for each side of the car. Driver seems to make a normal tone for blinker and passengers seems unhappy. Quick video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/N_EkJN5rHPI This was word vomit post, but I am hoping something rings a bell to someone and can point me in the right direction, thanks! |
