Help confirming engine number/type ??

Good morning. New to me 78 SC coupe. Owner had tons of records of prior ownership and was very, very proud of his Porsche.
The story is that the 80 year old owner took the SC and built out an '84 Carrera look car complete with whale tail spoiler and 16" Fuchs over several year period. Told me that he swapped the engine for a 3.2L and had it built out with Wossner components. Heads done by Flotech (of Nascar fame?) in Asheville NC. Nicosil jugs/cylinders, diamond honed to match new pistons. Retained the CIS injection. Handwritten notes from 2013 - 2016 regarding the build costs and invoice copies showing the re-installation of the build motor by another local Porsche shop. About $11k for the rebuild. Bare metal repaint in original Porsche Anthracite Gray. And best of all, to my susprise, NO RUST AT ALL UNDERNEATH as advertised.

Car runs/drives great - drove it back 750 miles from NC to Arlington Heights IL with no issues (other than the AC no op which I knew. Needs new hoses).

Doing my research to try see exactly what engine is in there... I think that I see:

Engine number *63 D 4152 * and case number 930/10.

Looks like a 83 3.0L SC engine to me (from Stuttcars engine listing). That combined with the existing CIS would lead me to believe that he bought an 83 motor and probably had it bored out to 3.2 versus buying an 84 3.2 Carrera motor and just rebuilding it.

I AM HAPPY WITH THE CAR AS IT SITS, JUST WANT TO TELL THE RIGHT STORY of what it is.

Comments? MANY THANKS in advance. JOHN

930/10 is an 81-83 Euro SC engine. If it is a late 83 930/10 it could have the Carrera case without the sump plate since they ran out of sump plate castings before the SC production ended and were already casting the Carrera cases.

Would the 63 D 4152 be consistent with the EURO SC ?

Stuttcars database looks to confirm an 83 with a stamping in the middle of the 0001-8000 range shown..and there is another section showing 930/16 and 64E ###### for US/Canadian engines in 1983.

CIS can deliver plenty of fuel, even when the displacement have been increaded by 7%. I would have it chrosschecked with a lambda gauge to make sure it won't run too lean or either too rich.

Also check the ignition timing and the vacuum & rpm advance if it fits to the engine. According to the Wössner pistons I would suspect a noticeably higher compression ratio which leads to a not too aggressive ignition timing...
