What a difference a corner balance makes!

For the past two years I've slowly been upgrading the suspension. To date I have installed 21/27 torsion bars, Weltmeister sway bars, poly bushings, sport shocks, lightened it up a couple hundred pounds (race seats, fiberglass bumpers, no A/C, sound deadener, etc), triangulated shock brace, turbo tie rods... the list goes on. I thought stock the car was much too soft with too much body roll. Each mod slightly improved the situation, but I felt I was shooting myself in the foot as I was losing the "Porsche feel". Well, I finally completed all the suspension mods I have planned, so on the advice of many I sprung for a corner balance as well as an alignment. OH MY GOD! I love the way it feels now. It feels like it used to, yet feels like I wanted it to. Solid, perfectly balanced and incredibly responsive like a sports car should. I can't believe the difference. I HIGHLY recommend anyone who does suspension work to have the corner balance done. Here are my end #'s (with a full tank of gas and 150 lbs added to the driver seat):

LF 564 RF 554 1118 41%
LR 811 RR798 1609 59%

Total weight: 2727 (I am guessing minus about 250lbs for gas and driver weight)

No question in this thread, just venting some excitement!

Sounds great - I am about to do similar things to my 1984. Original bushings are showing their age!

Cool! I need to balance mine again, but not until I install new rear bushings and shocks.

Just out of curiosity, what does a corner balance involve?

It involves turning the height adjusters at each corner to get the weight distributed at an optimal level.

And since Chuck and I share a passion for this sort of thing.... let me add summaries of previous exchanges by saying it means having each wheel carry its proportion of weight that is already distributed ( un-equally, it turns out) on the car. There are many longish threads that talk to this isue, but the short form math you're shooting for is:
LF/LR should = RF/RR
Sums -of -diagonal weights is *not* the target...we're not Formula type cars with the masses distributed evenly.
