1973.5 911 fuel injector
hello,
So i pulled the injectors from my CIS equipped 1973.5 911. They are part number bosch 0 437 502 002. Does anyone know of a part number cross reference to buy these correct injectors? I have found they are different from all other CIS injectors due to being mounted onto the engine case and not the runners. Thanks for any help! |

Yes, they are a 6 month only part. Bosch# 0 437 502 002 is the number on my injector. In the PET Porsche# 911 110 355 01 for the CIS injector.

Is there not another car that used this same injector that has the same fit and function with a different part number?? |

It is a unique car. In my searches, I have not found another vehicle using that Bosch part#.

Pretty incredible there is no other car out there with them but as you said it is a unique car. Do you suggest sending my set to get flushed and tested or just buying new? The car had been sitting for a few years. If anyone has a set of new ones sitting around let me know! |

FWIW, there are a number of 1/2 year only parts on the 1973.5 CIS motor.
Additionally, if you have the original fuel tank (CIS Swirl pot and full size spare indent), treat it like gold they are rarer than hens teeth.

^ for sure. Thankfully I have a spare tank. Has anyone had luck sending their injectors to get serviced (flushed, cleaned etc)? I spoke with fuel injector connection in GA and they mentioned that they have successfully serviced these injectors. |

If you use the PET number: 911 119 355 01, I located two vendors that carry them: Stoddard and Sierra Madre. They are $227 and $248, respectively. wow!

A lot of used CIS setups sell here for peanuts, perhaps the later 74-77 runners would fit. Less vapor lock too....

I've tried looking for Benz or VW injectors with no luck so far, these are rare items for sure. Our 73.5 CIS system is in a box on the shelf while we restore the system, car will run carbs for a while.

I noted that the fuel injector for the 1974 911 with CIS (911-110-225-01) is selling for $48.00 each compared to the 1973.5 injector (avg $225 each). How did that happen? The 1974 is the 2.7 liter engine introduction, which does make the mid year 73.5T rather unique. The 1973.5T was listed in a recent Excellence publication on its own and the value was higher then the 1973. Its finally being recognized as Porsche's last longhood and first CIS.
I have owned my 1973.5T for almost 20 years and have replaced many, many components. By the way, it has no thermo-time switch as found in several parts catalogs. From the unique one of a kind fuel tank (62 liter with full spare tire holder), to the non-adjustable warm up regulator, rear mounted fuel pump, first CIS, bumperettes, etc, the 1973.5T will hold its place in Porsche's historical 911 line up and worth hanging onto and enjoying. You might have to pay the piper as they say for the fuel injectors, but it also might be worth while to have them cleaned and the spray patterns checked to spec. Consider the savings! Their are a lot of familiar names on this board who know a lot about the 73.5T. You are new to the forum and I suggest you tap into the knowledge and experience here with your 1973.5T when you can. With that I present Misses Brown in all her glory. Good luck Bob 1973.5T ![]() |

^ Sepia Brown! She sure is beautiful.
This forum has already been of great help. I was lucky to have come across my 73.5 and definitely looking forward to enjoying it soon. Thanks for all of the help! Here is mine with a few years of dust still on it. ![]() Last edited by GJVGC; 04-02-2019 at 08:34 AM.. |

Lets not forget the first and non repairable WUR 0 438 140 001, substitute is 0-438-140-129 if needed. And also a non repairable throttle position compensation valve, EP/LK D1, 0438 160 001, NLA fuel filter, injector mount in cylinder head, small intake ports, first cis piston design with unique rings.......
Besides ugly rubber bumpers, front bumper mount had additional support from earlier cars, and doors had first side impact support bar. Want more? Snorkel on air box was longer than later models, unique oil tank and console (although my end of year model came equipped with later one used for '74's) couple extra wires in rear electrical panel, fan shroud only used on '73 CIS.

Go Ed....go...................and the far left fogging gauge, the bungee cord activated door panel pockets, left side mirror only, please, tires in a size you find hard to get, the first fuel distributor (CIS), that pathetic looking ribbed water hose with pressed on fittings between the sunroof motor and transmission (finally epoxied together), non-sport bench seats that requires velcro on your butt and seat to hold you on the turns, people calling your car color "baby poop", those ancient seat adjustment mechanisms and of course old ceramic fuses.
For those who want one........................please get in line ![]() |

Trivia. The 1973.5 was the worlds first production car with CIS.
