So I am stuck with a CEL that will not work for me - that is sad. I will keep the wire there for now, but disconnect it from the light...

That will probably explain why the Timmins harness does not have the CEL wire in it

Get a stock chip and run the diag. at idle. You realy only need the aftermarketchips to compensate for the lighter flywheel/dying during driving.

You can always get a performance chip that is made with the correct Checksum. Or consider the dual chip. That way you can have a choice: switch to the stock setting for diagnostics and every-day driving and then to the performance setting for track time. And for the performance setting you can decide whether to have the CEL on as indicator (don't corret the checksum) or have it off (use correct checksum).

I put the NBD dual chip in my conversion, and instantly I could tell the difference. I have yet to actually drive the car around (in the middle of a 993TT brake upgrade) But the car was easier to start and didn't die after revving it up, nice and smooth. I can hardly wait to finish the brakes so I can finally drive it around!

Mike, both Kroggers and myself have threads on this:

Let the 3.6 fun begin

my 3.6 conversion in my 993 conversion

How much? Depends on how much work you do yourself, and engine cost, roughtly about $12K
