Early 911 3.6 Conversion Stater motor / high Torque

Looking for a suitable starter motor for my 3.6 conversion with a 915 box. I have been debating whether to do an upgrade to a high torque starter motor which also would be a weight saving. The only point of contention is I have read a couple of threads saying as these run a different pinion depth you can get additional wearing on the starter ring. After peoples experiences.

The other quetions is the higher torque stater motors seem to run around 2.0KW and the original Bosch units are 1.5KW, will the bosch unit do the job?

Thanks in advance.

when I did my first 3.6 t/p back in '94 I rebuilt the stock '76 C3 starter, it's been used w/ 964 3.6, 993 3.8Rs and 9933.6 hotrod motors w/o any issues whatsoever.

the 964/93 motors may have high compression, but they also start easily

I did have to replace the stater in my 993 due to a Motronic issue that led to lots of cranking w/o a start, The stater just overheated too many times.
