71 accelerator rd length

Upon reinstalling my entire accelerator rod, bell crank etc, end to end, I've realized there's no possibile way to adjust it where it opens the throttle valves fully... it appears the long rod in the tunnel is too long..
Were there different part options
Other suggestions
Thanks

The return stop for the gas pedal is bent back. That makes the tunnel rod too long to adjust out.

After thoroughly reviewing I've found the everything works fine If the 2 carb springs are removed, as soon as 1 is installed there is some resistance that will stop the action going to full throttle. With 2 springs the this distance to full throttle is increased.

May have had incorrect carb springs, the coils were touching the arms.
