Strange electrial Gremlins 82SC

Hi all, I am currently rebuilding the engine on my 82SC and while I wait for parts to come back I decided to make use of the time by tackling some preexisting electrical problems.
Issues:
-Turn signals work fine when lights are off, when headlights are on only driver side blinkers work.
- Hazard light button only flashes when lights are off, when lights are on both green turn signals light up in dash and they done flash. Light for button does come on.
- When applying brake front blinker signal lights but does not flash.

I have a feeling all of these things are related to a bad switch or bad grounds. Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated!!

Update: 11/12/22

Checked all relative grounds per the Bentley manual, all connections look clean and tight.
Here is a video of the problem for a better reference.

Thank you all for the suggestions- Joseph
Update 4/18/23
After finishing the engine and installing I have moved back to these strange electrical problems. It seems that the hazard light button is depressed (on position) and when it is released (off position) the hazard switch lights up and lights start to flash. Is there an explanation for why this is working backwards as intended? I haven't removed the hazard switch at all or delved into the wiring connections yet. Also to mention that the turn signal switch was replaced by the previous owner in the 90's. The car also has an alpine stereo system that is not stock but looks as old as the car. Could this addition of this alpine unit be adding to the load on the circuit used for the hazard turnsignal relay?

Check all your grounds and make sure they are clean.

perhaps a 21 pin connector with corrosion.

I’ll take a gander around the car and look for bad ground straps! Also @dwight45, the 21 pin connector? I’m not familiar.

I am sure there are some ground wires under dash in Boot compartment, so worth checking too!

Trying to revive this thread as its winter so no driving for a couple months.
Headlights off:
Key on no headlights both turn signals work as they should, however the whole DS tail light assembly flashes exlcuding the reverse light.

Headlights on:
Entire DS tail light assembly is on. DS signal will not flash when turned on. PS signal works as normal.

Headlights on:
Both indicator lights in dash are iluminated. Pressing hazard light with headlights on does nothing.

Headlights off:
hazards on, lights flash as normal. DS entire taillight assembly flashes.

Removed DS tail light assembly and cleaned all connectors and ground points. also removed bulbs while leaving lights on to see if it changed anything and it did not.
Also to note rear compartment light does not work with new bulb.

Any steps to take in trouble shooting? Not looking for a specific answer as it could be a million things wrong. Just trying to isolate the possible problems. Thanks!

Joseph

Check out the hazard switch wiring and logic here:

There is a diode in the wiring to prevent current flowing when not wanted...

It sounds like you have a ground issue with the front light housing. In your test with headlights off, hazards on and DS rear turnsignal and brake both flash an assumption is both filaments of the DS front turnsignal bulb are both flashing. If the ground is lost on the front, the return path is through the rear brake/running light bulb.

You cleaned and tested the DS rear housing even removing the rear DS turnsignal bulb and nothing changed so likely it is ok. Do the same with the front turnsignal bulb. Remove it and see if things change.

Spoke, thank you for the helpful insight! Took a look at that front bulb and found that one of the contact pads was not touching the bulb. pulled it up with a small pick and voila all lights and flashers work perfect!
