However it doesn't seem to fit .. the original sender (I believe the original from '72) has an angled mounting flange, the Dansk doesn't. No amount of tweaking or twisting will see it sit flat against the tank .. the bottom of the original tank appears to have a protrusion in the base which stops the sender flange sitting flat.

Others seem to have had no problems ..I'm flummoxed .. anyone have ideas? I can't be the first ...

I wonder if there is merit to the original having a bit of an angle. Trying to install the Dansk, I was uncomfortable with the fit. Gasket in, installed the sender and could definitely tell it was "hitting/tapping" the bottom as I moved it around a bit.

Also, the threaded/small nut part extended quite a bit beyond the base of the sending unit. Wasn't comfortable with the possibility of it touching/rubbing so I got rid of and reinstalled the original for my cross country. My original this threaded area was recessed into the base...

Used the trip odometer which, of course, works...but still want to remedy my fuel sender issue...

Sorry for the late update but for me the Dansk didn't work.

I wish I’d gotten the URO sender originally.

Three senders later; just received my URO sender, bolted it in and it’s working perfectly.

As I said, I bought the URO sender based on UROParts stand up reply to PorscheDude.

Good customer service and products that work. What a concept!

Hi Quickstep192, sorry, we somehow missed your post.

So the unit you purchased a couple years ago was a URO? Please email a copy or screenshot of your proof of purchase showing all of the details to "sales at apaindustries dot com" and we'll see what we can do.

Well, I ditched the Dansk and went with a URO sender. Just installed and it seems to be working.

I did have an issue initially in regards to it not reading the level. After I installed, then removed the unit from the tank, I carefully tilted back and fourth a few times to let the 'float' move back and fourth. Seemed to work.

Filled the tank up and it shows full...so, so far so good.

I was seconds away from ordering from the dealer, but have had good luck in the past with URO products and thought I would give it a go.

I am now more in the habit of using the trip odometer so will see how things go. Hopefully, I finally get a reading below 1/2 to 1/4 of a tank...that has been my issue the last year...I will post back in a few months.

@UROParts Do you have a picture of the shipping lock pin in place, and how to remove it? I might have the same issue on mine. Cannot find a picture or instructions to remove this anywhere on the internet. Thanks!

Hi guys, this is unusual, URO Parts Fuel Tank Sending Unit 901 741 801 00 currently has all 5-star reviews on Azn and Pelican (except for one review that sounds like the buyer didn't remove the shipping lock pin prior to installation). We did get some feedback about the float possibly being a bit tight about a year ago, which has been resolved on the production line.

Porschedude996, please PM us a copy of your order confirmation will all of the details, and we'll be happy to send a warranty replacement!

One month with the URO fuel sender and all is well. Drove 500-600 miles and it worked well with a few fill ups...

Just an FYI....

Not sure which I bought and replaced but here’s what the shipping pin is on the OEM, the new part has a reminder sticker holds a tiny rivet in place.

Sorry, I’m just coming back to this post.

Thanks for your reply and willingness to help.

The sender that I got a couple of years ago was not a URO sender.
