Front Suspension Refresh
The front suspension in my '84 3.2 clunks when A) driving in reverse and B) full-lock turning at slow speed. (Parking lot)
I'd like to do a refresh but am unsure exactly where to start. When driving...speed doesn't matter...the car tracks flawlessly and the steering is fantastic. It's just the slow-speed stuff that causes the clunks. Many thanks for any advice.

Start by checking for free play. Ball joints, tie rod ends, tie rods at the steering rack, A arm bushings, strut tops, sway bar, crossmember, torsion bar adjusters.

Did you get this problem resolved? I have the same problem in my 1989 930 backing up near full lock, maybe two clunks per wheel revolution, have checked, nothing obviously loose.
Thanks |
