1981 911 SC - Unknown interior code 60

Hi Folks,

I got the info that my car has been delivered with interior code 60. But I cannot find any source telling me what exactly this means. Car has now refurbished black leatherette seats without perforated inserts. Interior is also black leatherette. Black carpet. I'm currently thinking to make over the the seats with black leather instead. But first I want to know what was original?

Thanks in advance.

Thomas

I thought interior codes were two letters? I dunno maybe I’m wrong.

Yeah, that's part of the problem... perhaps somebody has a reference list saying which official interior code this refers to? (similar to the external colors e.g.).

Thomas, can you remove some of the interior trim and see what color is on the other side. Or even unbolt a seat and check the vinyl underneath.

Black sport seats with white and black houndstooth look amazing

My 1981 SC's COA shows a heading "Interior Material Color/Type" and below it says "Black Leather/60" whatever that means. My original stock interior is the full leather, including seats, dash cover, knee pad, door panels, rear deck, etc. I believe yours should be full leather, not leatherette. Also, my original seats are full leather with perforated inserts and leather backs.

Thanks so far, guys! Appreciate!

Unfortunately I do not have a COA yet. Probably it will contain the same as yours @anoncurly. So your information is pretty helpful.
@Bill I guess I have to do it and see wherever leather or leatherette is my car. Don't think that the dash cover of mine is made of real leather. But as you suggested - I can't help it, I have to test it, even with a lighter if necessary which I liked to prevent.

Your carpets should be the Sliverknit as well, not the Perlon. I should also mention, mine is US delivery - I just noticed you are in Germany.

Thanks. Mine is a US model too...repainted (in USA already), tires and exterior lights transformed to german standards, rest is mostly original. (okay, some unimportant things like the tempostat and the AC were ripped out...)...

Carpet is supposingly also sliverknit in black, also on the door pockets, the door cards are black leatherette for sure, roof lining is white and still the original one I guess. The rear side panels are supposingly also leatherette on how it feels. As said - I have to prove it by taking them out...

Thanks Rikao4, that's pretty interesting.

The interior code I got must be an factory internal code, probably not only telling what kind of leather/leatherette, but sth like an option package or so, including several options in a single code?

Mine has an optional black headliner per my COA. Yes, my side rear panels, rear deck and even the jamb covering are leather, not leatherette. It should be fairly simple to tell if you have leather or leatherette - just put some leather conditioner on it. If it's genuine leather, it will absorb the conditioner. If it's leatherette, it won't. I think.
