oil line leak at crankcase 1972 911
I have a small oil line leak where the line attaches to the bottom of the crankcase right at the junction where it tightens down. What is the best way to fix this . . tighten it further . . remove it and reattach . . apply some sealant? I also have a leak at the crankcase plug right next to this line .. I believe it is for an additional line if you have the sportomatic? Anyone know what part that is and what copper washer size it takes? It is a screw slot for removal not a bolt . . might be tuff to remove.

First find out if it’s leaking between the fitting and case or fitting and hose. If it’s fitting and case be careful removing it dont over torque on it you can damage case, use heat if necessary, then replace aluminum washer. The other plug is your pressure relief valve use a impact screwdriver to loosen or vise grips, also has another aluminum sealing ring you can replace.

The oil line appears to be leaking between the case fitting and the case . . there is no crush washer between . . is there supposed to be a crush washer on the case side and if so what size?

Yes there is a crush washer between the case and fitting. When you go to the Porsche pet for your car there is a picture with part numbers and details for the crush washer. Rob

and case thread issues can cause a new washer to still leak. Last one I had like that I coated the fitting threads with Permatex 2 and that stopped the drip
