Hose Rebuild Advice?
Hi Pelicans!
I am in the process of refurbishing and reassembling the CIS on my 1982 SC. These idle/vac hoses had at least one perished end. How have others rebuilt or addressed these hoses? Having trouble finding a hydraulic shop locally that is able to help. Thanks, Mike ![]()

You might check with forum member BoxsterGT. He makes 3.2 fuel lines, but not sure he makes what you're seeking. Check out his recent post:

See if you have a Tube N Hoses franchisee close by. You can search from their website https://www.tubesnhoses.com/system-locations. The one 30 minutes from my house was able to crimp on new sections of appropriate hose.

That AL "claw" is also prone to cracking at the joints, not one of Stuttgart's most esthetic or well thought out contraptions. You would think there's a simpler cheaper setup to split a vacuum.
Not only that, let's hide all this behind the engine so they can't be serviced easily. Maybe, the engineers responsible could explain this some day for posterity's sake. |

Hi,
Oetiker type stainless steel clamps are another option for this application. ![]() |

I can use clamps for the larger, 3 point line, but the smaller elbow shaped line does not have barbs/flares on it, so I'm a little hesitant on clamps. I will try to find another shop that will work on it. I have been turned down a couple places already.

Thanks all.
I have tried one of the Tubes and Hoses stores and the other local one is shut. Will look at other shops in the area. Rob, I got to bellmetric. Looks like the crimper is $2k but they do indeed have the fittings! The oetiker clamps are a good idea for the larger tube. Considering that since there are flares in it. It is the smaller hose without flares that I am more concerned about. I want to ensure a lasting seal, then again, it is a sort of encapsulated fit, with it being bolted down and all... perhaps oetiker would be fine there too.

I don't see where you are located, but Hoseman, in Oxnard, California was convenient for me. I could walk up to the counter with my old hoses and they could make whatever I wanted. Type of hose, type pf fitting, length. They specialize in Cat, Deere and other heavy duty equipment hoses.
