What size tires to use ??
Hey all
So I just bought a set of deep sixes for my 1966 and I am not sure what size tires to use. I do not want the current tall skinny look. I don’t want the “kid racer” look either. I am thinking either 185/60 or 195/60. I would like a bit more sporty look. Don’t want rubbing issues but don’t want to use spacers. Thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated Thank you |

I can’t answer the question directly but have had a lot of luck using willtheyfit.com for looking at alternative wheel/tire combos. Good luck!

Stock was 165 H (or V) 15 tires. This is more or less equivalent to a 185/70-15 or 195/65-15. These should fit with no issues.

You also should be able to use a 205/60-15 tire. Depends on ride height and camber.

The Vredestein Sprint Classic in a 185/70r15 is a great value in the original size, they come in both H and W speed ratings. The Yokohama a048 in 205/60r15 is probably the best performing OE diameter streetable tire you can fit in a narrow body if you can find them, haven't seen them in stock in the US for a while. You can go down on the sidewall height one size without looking "boy racer," but the original diameter definitely looks the best to me. If you want a sportier look I'd start with lowering it slightly if you haven't.
