Help! Identify engine wire connections
Had my car at the body shop for a simple repaint for 1.5 years (a great experience…). In the process they managed sever and lose some wires, and I managed to forget how things initially were.
Please help me identify some stray wires and where some connections go. 1.) This was a random harness they put in a box, i think I traced it back where ground (yellow arrow) connects to the metal engine fuse plate. There is a missing red wire that was ripped from the connection, i think it goes to one of the 3 fuses in the engine compartment? And then there is a severed green/white stripe wire. I think it connects to the wire in #2 below. Please confirm. Lastly what does the round 3 pin connector actually connect to? ![]() 2.) circled in orange, the green/white stripe wire here I believe was initially connected to the green wire above? The connector (circled in blue) with a green wire and orange rubber shroud, what does this connect to? ![]() 3.) on the starter wiring harness, there is a wire that goes along side, but is longer and appears to travel more towards the front of the vehicle with a rubber shroud. It looks to have two pins that might have connected to a connector at some point? Is this missing a piece and where is it meant to connect? ![]() 4.) In the frunk, there are two very similar connectors coming off the harness from the fuse panel, what are they mean to connect to? ![]() ![]() 5.) Also in the frunk, there are two large gauge wires with a large rubber grommet attached. What is this meant to connect to? ![]() 6.) Lastly, this collection of brown wires, all meant to attach to the ground nut as drawn? ![]() Thanks a ton, there were so many more, along with a broken release cable to the hood, decklid, and fuel door (how?), but luckily the others were more intuitive. 1. CIS Test port. Two wires end up at the CIS Lamba ECU under the passenger seat. The ground (brown) i believe ends up on the engine somewhere about the bell rank purch.
2. Looks like it runs to the white tipped plug and the wire runs to the CIS Lambda ECU under the seat. 3. Reverse Light Switch on front end of the transmission. 4. I’ll check my car and in my books. 5. Headlight washer pump 6. All grounds to probably the post with the nut. If they reach and the wire lay properly, you should be good. Thanks a ton! That helps so much!
One last one (hopefully) for the gurus that I forgot. Comes off the car side 14 pin harness next to the fuel filters. Destination? Has grey and brown wires. On the wire branch there is a clip, and a grommet, so I’m guessing this dives into some hole I’m not seeing? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
