D'Eser TS-R
Has anyone sat in these seats? Really like the design and the ability to add anti-submarine belts. I'd really like to sit in the seats first before buying.

I'd be interested to know as well.
They look similar to this set from GTS Classics I was considering for an upcoming build. ![]()

That is the RS seat. D’eser makes that seat as well. I spoke with an accomplished interior specialist and he wasn’t impressed with the build quality of GTS Classic seats FWIW

I have been in the Singer version of the seat and they are very firm, not uncomfortable but not plush by any means. If you look at the construction of the seat bottom you can see why. They look great however.

Was the “fit” comfortable? That is to say, did you feel you had to wedge yourself in uncomfortably or was it firm but conforming? For reference, I’m 5’9” and 165

I am the same size. My first thought was " I would not want to go a long distance in these seats" The fit was fine, a bit more difficult to get in and out because of the design. I decided to stay with the sport seats in my hot rod, much more comfy and good access to the back. But again, I love the look of those fixed back seats.

I have sat in the GTS Vallelunga and they were very nicely made. Better than the mystery accomplished interior specialist's. Who knows? |

No one is forcing you to read this thread so I would suggest getting thicker skin, or I can send you a box of tissues.
If we can’t candidly share opinions on a forum like this it is of little value. If you disagree with my opinion that’s fine, and clearly you’re happy with the product. That’s also fine. What I said was not “low class”, you’re just miffed because you own those seats. I didn’t bash them BTW, just said he wasn’t impressed. There’s no chance that you’re certain GTS seats are better than the “mystery specialist” when you don’t know who he is! And I ’m not going to share the interior shops name without his permission. It’s not in his best interest to do so. Regardless, what I said stands and your opinion is valid as well. We can certainly disagree but slinging insults is childish |

I have no affiliation to the current conversation (GTS). I've seen lots of seats stripped down and they are not the same. Without naming names, there are a few I won't bolt in my cars for one reason or another. Do your homework.

Any seats you recommend or have been impressed with?

As a rule of thumb I gravitate to OEM seat suppliers. Either new offerings or reconditioned vintage seats. These companies build and test seats to meet NHTSA, TUV and carmaker requirements and the quality of construction reflects this. For motorsport seats, FIA approval is a good indicator of quality.

I’ve been happy with my BF Torino. They have not been taken apart and inspected, but the seem fine to me.

I've been eying those deser seats for a new project. How does one order them in the US? I tried emailing the manufacturer to no avail.

I believe this is the US distributor. It's somehow related to the MrFiat company/website as well. The upholsterer/interior specialist I referenced noted their Sport S seat was very well made. Since he does the leather work/skin on the seat what he was referring to was the build quality and the frame construction.
https://exoticcarseats.com/ I'm going back and forth between the Sport S (the safe bet) and the TS-R. Like the looks of the TS-R better but I might not like the comfort. That's why I really want to find one to sit in. It seems one of the Singer seat options in their original cars is identical. There are a couple in the twin cities so I might have to hunt them down. Another option is the Recaro Classic LS or LX. As Tony pointed out, you can't go wrong with an OEM supplier. Likely the safest and most solidly built. I don't like the headrest though, it is too modern for a car that will look out of the early 70s (although the Recaro option on Singers has a more retro headrest so maybe it's an option). The Recaro Classic Pole Position looks nice but it's a one piece bucket that, again, looks too modern. |
