225/45/16 245/45/16 tires
On the hunt for tires .... again for my 8/9 FUCH.
225/45/16 245/45/16 tires All I see here is Toyo R888R and Advan A052 which I would have to import from the US. What is everyone doing? Maybe I need to go back to my 6/7's? Street only. Thanks Rod

Here's what I found for 225/50/16 245/45/16 combination tires
Yokohama A-008P Pirelli Cinturato P7 (Collezione) Pirelli P Zero Rosso (Collezione) you would need 7s up front for 205s Bridgestone Potenza Sport Michelin SX MXX3

The issue with those recommendations is that the 225/50 just doesn’t fit up front on an SC or Carrera with 951 8" wheels — they rub, even with significant negative camber. That’s why we stick with the 225/45.
Over the past year, I’ve been experimenting with the standard 205/55 and 225/50 setup on my 8s and 9s, running Continental DWS06 all-seasons. Normally, these have a concerning amount of sidewall flex, but they actually feel pretty solid when stretched on wider wheels. Do they grip like the R888Rs or A052s I’ve used for years? Absolutely not. Would I have ever recommended stretching tires like this to a customer? Never. But have I been enjoying it anyway? Definitely.

I've had 225s up front on my M491 and they make the car drive very heavy and went back to 205s on my 7s and 8s with 245s on the rear.
Have a new set of A008s going on as soon as I can build a set of E50s this summer.

8/9 combo is interesting on non-widebody... I have 7/9 on my Carrera and seems to fit well....
Just wish someone made a 245/45/16 All season ![]() ![]()

The 951 8's are the same offset on the outside as the 911 7's.
They just look much better than the 7's.

yup it is a pit a to find those Conti Sport-245/45/16....I have called all the manufactures around the world.Canada ,USA, Germany.and even here in Bohemia where most of them were made lately..and NADA.
I was lucky to find 4 years old tires just in December last year..i have the rubber measuring tool ..pro-Shore A . and the tires i got are 6,7 --so i was happy. Before this search, i got myself Pirelli Rosso- but here in Europe -these are made in Bulgaria and they were made very badly...got rid of them asap..very pricey tires and crap each 200 euros. Ivan i guess if i need one day new tires, i will go with Michelin I am using 8th and 9th both Fuchs offsets..very happy with the look and how it drives since 1997.. ![]()

![]() f/s of the 8ET 23.3 is .5" more outboard than the 7" ET23.3, this leads to a poor fit using the short 225/45 tire and more neg camber both help in this area for a good fit in front w/ 8 you want ET25 to 30, w/ ET27 being the best compromise

I run 8s and 9s , street tires are a challenge for sure. 225/45-16 and 245/45-16 are available in the UK , Toyo TR1, if you can get them to ship to you. I purchased multiple sets of the previous T1R from the UK but the same supplier would not ship the last time I asked. I’m back on Toyo 888 and damn are they noisy!! This past winter I pulled out 2 pairs of 16x7s and made a square set of 205/55-16 and ran them while it was cold.

The above is one reason why many choose to go w/ 17
8 & 9 is a great combo, 8 & 9.5 is better w/ 8 & 9 215 /245 or 225/245, or 225/255 or 235/255 or 235/275vare the tire combos you want but w/ stock Fuchs and the available tires most are just not available in 16 but are in 17, more so if you can customize ETs

Running 7's and 8's w/ 225 45 and 245 40 16's. Love the look, though I suppose as previously commented the 225's make front steering at low speed harsh. Get it up in speed and it is just planted. They are Pirelli P 7's. Give me that almost vintage look.

I run the 008Ps on my 930, and I am happy withnt sticky, them. If you wabut don't worry too much about wear go with some RA-1's.

running 225/45 on 7 vs 8 both w/ ET23.3 gives ~2-3mm more clearance at the rlip.

225/45 & 245/45 R888R with about -2.7* rear camber and 13mm spacer
![]() 205/55 & 225/50 DWS06 with about -1.5* rear camber and 13mm spacer (rubs sidewall under lateral load) ![]() I think the DWS06 run super wide. They don't appear to be stretched at all, visually

I got the idea to stick the 225/50s on the 9's after buying a pair out of necessity to get home from Colorado back in 2020 when I corded the 225/45 fronts from having too much fun. They surprisingly looked really balooned/pinched on the 8s up front.
I got a fresh pair of R888Rs when I got home and stuck the DWS06 on the shelf in the garage until last March when it was time for new tires. I bought a pair of 205/55 and threw the full set on. I was pretty nervous after having only run R compounds for 70k miles. It took some getting used to not having that immense grip but ultimately I think it made me a smoother driver. The DWS06 still had enough grip to have fun on ACH and Latigo Canyon last fall when we drove out to Luft10.

Why are you running a spacer?

I was running a spacer on the 9's to match the aggressive fitment of the 8s, especially with the amount of negative camber I was running.

I did find a set of tires that stood out (WIDE!) from the others so if the taller front tire is acceptable they are nearly as wide as my 225/245 888s . Hankook Ventus R-S4 is available in 205/55 and 225/50 (equal diameters) and is a 200 tread wear tire. Pretty sporty but not 100 tread wear like my 888s. They have got to be quieter, too. |

Wow, within .1-.2" rear tread width of the R888R & A052, and much wider than the DWS06 I've been running.
