Alternator Fan While I知 in there?

Found a chunk missing from my alternator fan - so I ordered a new one. In removing it I noticed the shroud was broken near one of the bolts that hold the spark plug wires in place.

So I ordered a new shroud.

While I’m in there I’m going to go ahead and do an oil change and valve adjustment. New cap and rotor. New spark plugs. Valve cover gaskets. New trans fluid. etc. looking at the alternator it seems fine.

The alternator has been rebuilt at some point. But not since I purchased the car ten years and 50k miles ago. (110k miles now). Shaft seems to turn fine and I’m not seeing any play. But there are scrapes on the shroud that show the fan was rubbing at some point.

Getting all new parts is fine. Not having electrical issues to make me think the alternator needs to be rebuilt. Just wanted to make sure there was nothing I should check to make sure the rubbing doesn’t keep happening.
