Is this mount squished?

Is this mount cooked? squished? in need of a replacement?

Mounts aren’t expensive nor difficult to change so if in doubt change them (both)

This. It is easy to change, and not very expensive. If you don't know how old they are, and are worried about them, just change them.

Hi ccallana- Certainly looks squished. As Glen mentioned, it's an easy change- here's a good string (I just replaced my mounts last year, as I was getting cap-to-base contact that I could actually feel & hear)

Hope this helps!

Do folks recommend the regular ones for the coupe, or the harder cab versions?

Hi ccallana- We may be getting into "which Oil is best?" territory here, but I went with the URO mount from our host, along with all new hardware. Very pleased.

I did the transmission mounts and engines mounts at the same time.

Might want to consider replacing all 4 at the same time.

If original might want to start soaking things with a penetrating oil?

Pretty easy job, find a thread, etc...

I would go with original or original equivalent supplier...

and....if your doing it yourself be careful when removing the engine mounts as too much torque from things being somewhat seized can actually bend the engine mount cross member.

https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/842276-recommendations-engine-mount-crossmember.html

I actually had to cut things from an engine removal, but knew I was going to get a new cross member (Rennline, sold here).

Keep us posted of the outcome!

Erik

I found my cross member twisted slightly and with cracks. I had to cut the ends off it to get it out. It is a good time to invest in a new stronger cross member. I also did the motor mounts with the cab ones. As mentioned, it is a fairly easy DIY project if I recall correctly.
