Special Tool
Is there a special 13MM wrench that you use to remove the Dizzy on an early (67) P-car. I was able to get if off using a short 13mm Open end wrench (barely) but I have a feeling I will not be able to get it as tight as I need to using it. I almost need a 13mm wrench with a 90 degree bend at the bottom of it.
What are you guys using??

a 13mm wrench with a 90 degree bend in it. Seriously I heated one up and bent it. I also ground the box end thinner so I could get it in there.

I know what you are asking. I make do with just a couple of different 13mm open end wrenches. Also, that nut does not need to be terribly tight. If it is at all snug, that's fine.

Thanks guys, That is what I thought but wanted to make sure I didnt spend too much time trying to find a tool that I did not need or does not exist. However, I do like Lendaddys idea of heating it up and bending it.
Superman, What do you consider snug? When I loosened it it only took a half of a turn with hardly any pressure to loosen this nut. Is that to lose?

I saw those on the Pelican tools page. Looks like those will work.

A 13mm nut like the one for the distributor hold down is typically torqued to 24Nm = 18 lb-ft = not all that tight. No need to "gorilla" it. Snug is all it needs.

See your snap on man...they make a 13mm dizzy wrench. Also handy for reaching one of the heat exchanger nuts...mine works well...just ask RoninLB...he was the last guy to use it on a dizzy.

just loosen the 10mm nut on the outside of the clamp and wiggle out the distributor. the clamp and 13mm nut can stay put.
