The 915 gearbox in normal street driving typically runs around 140–180 °F (60–80 °C) once fully warmed up. On spirited driving or track use, you might see up to about 200–220 °F (93–105 °C) without issue.

It certainly depends on use. I have done many (multiple dozens) 12 hour days of driving in 100+ degree heat. The engine is 215 oil temp, and the engine heat and the rotational parts in the transmission have to add heat as well running at 75 to 85 for long stretches.
I change my transmission fluid every 10,000 miles as I do autocrosses, and HPDE track days as well. Oil is a lot cheaper than a 915 rebuild.

Yeah, totally fair question. The 915 gearbox doesn’t usually run with a dedicated temp gauge, but under normal driving conditions, it typically stays in the *150°F to 200°F (65°C to 95°C)* range.

Gearbox temperature varies, but around 180–200°F under load is often normal. Anything consistently higher may signal lubrication or airflow issues. Like understanding https://valismaa-kasiinod.com/hasartmangude/volatiilsus/, knowing volatility helps anticipate performance. Monitoring with sensors gives peace of mind and can prevent costly wear over time.
