Correct Tank for a 1973.5 911T with CIS
I am planning on replacing the fuel tank on my 1973.5 011T with CIS -- preferably with a used OEM tank for correctness -- and am wondering what the proper replacement options are.
My concern is that as a CIS IT might have different plumbing, barbs, etc. compared to other carburated and MFI long hoods. Similarly, the 1974 thru 1982(?) CIS G-Bodies might have a different tank as well (didn; they have a donut or inflatable spare). Any insight onto whether my half-year CIS model has a take un ique compared to the 1965-early 1973 or 1974+ cars would be most appreciated. |

This io the kind of thing that worries me and makes me want to find a used tank off of a 1973 CIS car.
From Pelican Parts description Fuel Tank Part #: 911-201-904-02-M6350 JP Group Dansk - VW $ 631.25 Qty: 1 This part fits your 1973 Porsche 911 T Coupe/Targa Note: 62 liter. Corrosion resistant aluminized steel, painted black. Fuel Strainer is included. Fuel tank must be thoroughly cleaned of any potential manufacturing debris before installation. Cars with CIS fuel injection may require fuel line modifications. |

The 1973.5 tank is a very specific tank for MY only - I'm not sure they make a direct replacement.
The 73.5 tanks have an internal swirl pot and baffling as well accepting a full size spare.
