real 2.7 MFI or not ??

Hi all

I need an urgent help : may somebody tell me the parts to check to be sure i'm buying a 2.7 rs MFI engine,

the seller gave me numbers that match nothing ??

I know what it looks like but not accurately enough

This is to become a child dream for me

the engine 's been rebuilt 10 000kms ago, the man have the papers, but are there numbers anywhere, special parts, identification signs ?

is there a noticable difference between a 2.4 MFI and a 2.7 carrera MFI ?
and my last question : may you confirm to me the 2.7 RS engines (73) and 2.7 euro carrera (74,75,76) where exactly the same ?

I'm waiting for your grateful help

Best regards
Philippe

The number on the case should be 911/83 for the '73 and also the Euro '74 and '75 Carrera RS engines.

The serial numbers for the '73 RS engines should be 663XXXX. The '74 RS engine should be 664XXXX, and the '75 RS engine would be 665XXXX. There were a limited number of '76 RS engines and those I assume would be 666XXXX. All the RS engines (911/83) are the same no matter what year car it is in. Hope this helps.

They have given you what you need. The numbers tell the story i.e. 911/83. Other than that a 2.7rs and a 2.4s motor look identical.

So what are the numbers he gave you?

you need:

the engine type 911/83
engine serial number 663... 664.... 665....
and the mfi pump type number, i don't have but i can try to find

i think those are all the numbers you can get. For anything else, you will have to take things apart.
